I LOVE my friends.

And when you finally meet that great friend, you feel this sort of completeness in your life. And it’s really hard to find that great friend. Because sometimes you come across people you think are your friends and really, they aren’t. It’s like they are always mad at you and you don’t know why or you feel like you are constantly offending them. Sometimes they have motives, or just like the “thought” of having friends, but don’t understand the true concept of being a friend.

Friendship is SO important to me. It’s like having these sisters that are not biological, but still have the same closeness of what a sister relationship should be.Β  And recently I have discovered new people in my life that make me wonder what took so long to find them.

But the ones I’m sharing tonight I have known and have such a love and appreciation for them. And these are the only ones that I have pictures for now. (The rest of you, send me some. You know who you are………)

Say what you want, but he loves me despite what mood I am in. He makes it all better.

Emily & Phil. I just met them, but instantly feel a part of them.

Lisa, Char & Harry Potter. They know how to rock it. And are amongst the sweetest.

And Char again. But I really wanted to share this pic since it’s one of my most favorites. She is so incredibly special to me.Β  She is so genuine and makes me feel like I have all the worth a human could possibly have. I adore her and would do anything for this woman. Words can’t express how real and amazing she is.

And the others I met…….Mandy, Jenny, Angie, Jess, & Sherrie………You are such WONDERFUL ladies!!!! I’m SO thankful that I FINALLY got to meet you.

I feel blessed to have such amazing people in my life.

Yay! It’s that time again!

  • I have worn a beanie every day this week because I have been too lazy to do my hair.

  • I am right handed. When doing my make up I have to use my right hand while doing eyeshadow. But when doing my mascara, I HAVE to use my left hand.

  • I seriously lack Vitamin D. I get teased all the time with how white I REALLY am.

  • I find when I don’t have money, I see all of these things I want. But when I DO have money, I can never find anything I want.

  • I’m really enjoying my mustache bandaid and really don’t want to take it off.

  • Paul is my favorite Beatle.

  • I’m taking almost an entire week of work off soon just so I can craft, draw, sew, and create.

  • I bought a jug of cheeseballs and consumed them within a matter of two days. (I swear I shared with kids!!!)

  • I am the youngest of 7 kids.

  • I have been making any excuses I can to include whip cream with my meals. Even if it’s by itself.

Hmmmm…..I’m thinking now is a good time to stop before I spill the beans over something I’m not ready to share yet. πŸ™‚

Have a great weekend!!

Today was the job shadow and I have to say, I really enjoyed it. She was such a joy to work with in person and incredibly smart! I have to say, I was pretty impressed.

So to start off, I wanted to do something to welcome her and decided a gift bag would be great! Bree helped get things since I couldn’t go to the store and she had to get stuff for her kid as well. Here is the bag…..

It was full of candy, glow sticks, pens, and a cute little puppy.

I also wanted to make her a cute little card to go along with it. Here is the card.

I had to cut some of it off to not show her real name. She really loved
it though!!

First we went into the auditorium to meet our mentee’s. (Ha ha, I love 30 Rock) Then after the introductions we had the option of taking a tour or just go back to our desks. Penn decided that she just wanted to go to my desk. I was so excited to give her her bag. And she was pretty excited to get it. πŸ™‚Β  She was so cute, she put some chocolate on my desk to give me. Awwwwww…..

We had to sit there for an hour asking questions and showing her about my job so she could understand the job field. I loved getting to know her. She has such a great understanding on life for being 10. And I can tell that her parents are really teaching her the ways of life as well. Just last week she had the opportunity to help out in the Soup Kitchen!

My job didn’t really have anything to do with her careers she had in mind, but I did the best I could to give pointers and any advice to help with future decisions. She has SUCH a love for animals and think that she would make a great veterinarian. My job really isn’t very exciting and I kept apologizing to her that it wasn’t. But I did let her know that helping in the health care industry is a VERY good thing to have under your belt. Knowing that you have job security is pretty comforting. I could tell that she was having a good time telling me all of her stories and I was entertained listening to her. (I did emphasize the whole college issue with her. I wanted her to know how important it was to get an education since not everyone has the opportunity to do so.)

Finally, lunch time. It was sad that we were coming to an end. I was enjoying this mentoring! And they HAD to serve pizza. I was bummed because it smelled SO GOOD. I ended up eating just the toppings so I could have SOMETHING. (I was starving!) While they were closing the presentation, she told me, “When I saw you walk in, I was hoping I would get you.” (awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

We got our pictures taken and said our goodbyes. It was sad seeing them leave, but still thankful that I was able to have this opportunity of mentoring. I hope that she takes the things she learned today and be able to squeeze it in her life.

It was fun. And I would definitely do it again. They did send me a picture of us taken together and I love it. Turned out super cute!

I also will have a little remembrance of this day as well. I accidentally cut my hand on the table as we were eating. (It was sharp!) And decided to turn it into something fun.

This is a good way to end a Friday.

I’m an 80’s child so looking back at a lot of the style’s from back then make me giggle.

Here are some things I found that I think are super awesome…….

The A team. I’m sure that my BIL would LOVE these and my SIL would be MORE than happy to buy these for him. πŸ˜‰ (source)

Totally remember these. I remember my sister walking me to school carrying this on her shoulder. πŸ™‚ (source)

Who didn’t have these?? (source)

Yoshi was always a favorite of mine! (source)

K, I loved loved loved Rainbow Brite.Β  And when I saw this, I fell in love. yes, I still use and apron when cooking because I am messy and seem to ruin clothes all the time…… (Source)

There are too many fun things on there that I found and they all brought back such wonderful childhood memories. It’s pretty fun to go back and relive your childhood again. As much fun as certain things were, I won’t lie……….. some things in the 80’s should…..well….just STAY in the 80’s. πŸ™‚
